Always the smile.....

It goes without question that we will miss the smiling Wanda Lund. She has spent so many years in support of the sport of NASCAR racing in so many racing club communities that it will be hard to accept she is gone. It goes without question that the tragic circumstances surrounding her death leaves us all thinking "Wanda would never do that." No one will ever know the mental and physical conflict turmoiling inside her because she successfully kept a lot inside. We all will wish we could have made one more call, one more email.... but it is what it is. We should celebrate her life for the honorable way  she tried to live it. Many hard knocks were placed in her path and we just expected she could get through anything.

Much conjecture is going on out there about what happened but we must be cautious in a time when emotions are so raw and exposed. Any investigation into the nature of death will be thoroughly examined.

Rest assured that Wanda is at the 'Big Track in the Sky' guardrail with Doris & Pam Roberts and cheering on her beloved Tiny, Curtis T., Little Joe and Fireball! Wanda never missed a party so sometime hoist a cold one to the sky and think kindly of her.

At this time, January 6th, 2012, Brothers Dale and Ricky Russell, Sister Darlene Hannah, nieces  and son Chris will fulfill Wanda's wishes of cremation.

A public Memorial Service is shown below. A future memorial is being discussed for Daytona Speedweeks when all of Wanda's friends make their annual pilgrimage to the place where Tiny had one of the most amazing Daytona 500 victories in 1963.

If you have any ideas on a Memorial for Wanda or would like to be notified of details, then watch this post and reply to it. Every effort will be made to keep everyone informed and up to date here and on www.TinyLund.com.

I know I speak for all of you when I send our sincere condolences to the family and that we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
